Food Review: Terra Sweets and Pumpkin Chips

Frankie enjoying some Terra Sweets and Pumpkin Chips!

These were an impulse buy at some big box grocery store - or maybe it was Whole Foods, I can't remember - I have a tendency to wildly grab anything that has the word "pumpkin" on it or whose packaging is autumn or Halloween colors, and I don't always remember where I bought things! Anyways, I saw Terra's Real Vegetable Chips  in Sweets and Pumpkin SOMEWHERE and had to try them!

I believe they were around $4, and promised a hint of cinnamon and nutmeg along with the autumnal flavor of pumpkin. I like chips of all kinds - both salty and sweet, or a mixture of both, so I was looking forward to trying these no matter what their flavor turned out to be. I was actually expecting them to be really sweet for some reason, but was pleasantly surprised to find they had a subtle sweet flavor that wasn't overpowering. The subtle sweetness was nicely rounded out by the cinnamon and nutmeg (again, not overpowering - these don't taste like pumpkin pie if that's what you're looking for!), with a wonderfully savory flavor and a touch of saltiness.

I liked how these chips were slightly thicker than potato chips, but still crispy and crunchy! I really liked the flavor of these, and they can be eaten by themselves (I nearly ate the whole bag in one sitting, whoops!), or would be good with salsa, hummus, or even some pumpkin spice dip! The autumn colors of the chips are gorgeous as well, and would look great at a Halloween party!

Have you tried these yet, and if so, what did you think of them?

  1. Looks delicious. If you ever go to Montreal, try the Green Panther. A great vegan restaurant (my favourite vegan restaurant in the whole world) and they have what seems a delicious pumpkin and pecan pie: http://vraiefiction.blogspot.co.uk/2015/10/la-tarte-la-citrouille-de-la-panthere.html
