Food Review: Wholesome Chow's Brownie Mix

Last year at Expo West I was introduced to a company called Wholesome Chow that makes vegan and gluten-free baking mixes. Since then, I have been seeing their baking mixes appear on more and more grocery store shelves! Wholesome Chow makes vegan and gluten-free baking mixes for pancakes, muffins, cakes, cookies, scones, brownies, and more. I have been having mad cravings for brownies lately, so I decided to try their brownie mix.

Their brownie mix is vegan, organic, and free of allergens including dairy, eggs, wheat, gluten, peanuts, nuts, soy, and corn. The mix only requires you add melted non-dairy butter (I used Earth Balance), one egg substitute (I used the Neat Egg), and water. You can also add in other mix-ins like nuts, chocolate chips, fruit, etc. if you wish. For mine I added vegan Enjoy Life Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips!

Preparation was a breeze - mix the liquids together then add to the powder mix, stir well, pour into a pre-greased pan, and pop in an oven pre-heated to 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 - 40 minutes. After the brownies are nice and firm, they come out of the oven to cool completely, and then can be devoured (sharing is optional!).

I loved how easy and fast this mix was to prepare (my laziness thanks you, Wholesome Chow)! The hardest part was waiting for the brownies to cool before cutting into them. Though I undercooked mine a bit (totally my fault, I should have left them in the oven for 10 more minutes), the brownies were still out-of-this-world delicious!! They were so moist, ooey-gooey, and delightfully decadent! I'm not gluten-free, but I was blown away how scrumptious they turned out without the gluten. Even Mister Spooky, who is not vegan, couldn't get enough of these yummy, chocolately bites of heaven!

This is the ideal luscious dessert just in time for Valentine's Day, and you can find this Wholesome Chow Organic Brownie Mix at your local grocery store or order it via Amazon!
