Watch Now on Netflix: Veronica (2017)

Veronica just hit Netflix streaming and I had heard mostly positive buzz about this supernatural horror film, so I couldn't wait to watch it! It is directed and co-written by Paco Plaza, who is most know for his [REC] movies (he co-directed the first and second of these films with Jaume Balagueró before directing the third film solo) as well as directing the excellent The Christmas Tale segment in the Films to Keep You Awake series. I really enjoyed the [REC] films and The Christmas Tale, so I was interested to see how he would handle a more supernatural-style film.

Midsummer Scream to Release Pre-Sale Tickets This Week, Including a New Gold Bat Pass

If you're like me, you are already looking forward to Midsummer Scream returning to Long Beach Convention Center July 28th and 29th, 2018! I've had a blast at this horror and Halloween convention the past two years (check out my past coverage HERE, HERE, and HERE), and it keeps getting better and better!

This year, Midsummer Scream is expanding their popular Hall of Shadows to include more haunted attractions, adding more creepy vendors to their showfloor, and of course will have a variety of panels and presentations throughout the weekend!

This week, Midsummer Scream has announced they are releasing pre-sale tickets, with steep discounts for the first 200 tickets sold! They have also announced an exclusive Gold Bat Pass that offers earlier entry to the event along with other perks. Below you'll find more info on ticket prices as well as info on the new Gold Bat Pass.

Watch Now on Netflix: The Ritual (2018)

I read Adam Nevill's The Ritual last year, and it made me eagerly look forward to the film adaptation (which was one of my most-anticipated films of 2018), which just hit Netflix Friday, February 9th. The book's first half was terrifying, and I couldn't wait to see such nightmarish visions come to life on the screen as imagined by director David Bruckner (who gave us strong segments in V/H/S and The Signal).

In the past, I haven't thought much of Saint Valentine's Day, but as the years go on, I find myself enjoying this holiday more and more. I don't do much to actually celebrate it, but the colors and messages of love this year are just giving me heart eyes!
