Food Review: Pumpkin Spice Oreos
Last week, Oreo finally released their latest fall flavor, Pumpkin Spice, in stores! I finally managed to snag a box over the weekend at Target, cuz OMG Pumpkin Spice Oreos!! I have previously reviewed Oreo's other fall flavor, Caramel Apple (read the review), so I was greatly anticipating trying the Pumpkin Spice Oreos!

13 Horror Movies I’m Looking Forward to this Autumn
Ahhhhh autumn, my favorite time of year (as if you haven’t noticed!!)! Time for falling leaves, dropping temperatures (well, at least wishing for dropping temps here in SoCal), scary décor, Halloween, and, of course, horror movies! I love horror year-round, but there is just something special about autumn that creates the perfect atmosphere for watching horror flicks!
In past years, there haven’t been that many horror films released in the months of September, October, or November, except the Paranormal Activity films. We were starved for horror then, but this year it seems like a glut of horror films are being released these three golden months!
Here are my top 13 horror films I’m looking forward to watching this autumn, ordered by release date:

Food Review: Treeline Herb-Garlic French Style Soft Cheese
I recently had the pleasure of enjoying Parmela’s treenut cheese (review), so I thought I would expand my vegan cheese repertoire and try Treeline’s French-style soft cheese. Treeline was one of the first, if not THE first, vegan companies to offer fancy vegan soft cheese, and I've hear so many friends rave about their cheese, so I thought it was high time I tried some! Treeline is produced by The Gardener Cheese Company in Kingston, New York and is available at most Whole Foods and select natural food stores.

Food Review: Caramel Apple Twizzlers
Twizzlers are one of the “mainstream” candies that are accidentally vegan, so I was excited to see that they had a new flavor available for the Halloween season – Caramel Apple filled Twizzlers! I wasn't sure if this particular flavor would also be vegan, but after a quick scan of the ingredients it looks like the Caramel Apple Twizzlers are vegan as well!

Trader Joe's Seasonal Pumpkin Items
Trader Joe's has gone pumpkin-crazy this autumn season! They have everything from pumpkin oatmeal to hard pumpkin cider to pumpkin trees out right now! Hey, I'm not complaining, I just wish more of these items were vegan.
However, a large bulk of their seasonal pumpkin items are vegan (or, at least they appeared 99.9% vegan after a quick scan of their ingredients - please correct me if I'm wrong). Here is a small sample of their pumpkin offerings this fall:

Irvine Park Railroad Pumpkin Patch 2014
Happy first day of fall! And what's better than kicking off the first day of the most wonderful season than with a visit to the pumpkin patch? Nothing, that's what!
I visited the Irvine Park Railroad Pumpkin Patch, the first pumpkin patch to open near me, yesterday! It is located in the Irvine Regional Park on the foothills between Irvine and Orange. Not only was it a perfect way to kick off autumn, but the weather was gloriously gloomy to boot!

Haunt Horror "The Houses October Built" Coming this Autumn
The trailer for The Houses October Built debuted a week ago today, and I've been obsessing over this haunt-themed horror movie ever since! I mean, it combines haunted houses, Halloween, road tripping, awesome costumes, and a spooky story about the ultimate underground haunt that aims to scare people to death?! What's not to love???

Food Review: Jif Whips' Pumpkin Pie Spice Whipped Peanut Butter
Enjoying some Jif Whips on toast with rice milk!
One of the first Halloween/fall food items I bought this year was Jif Whips' Whipped Peanut Butter and Pumpkin Pie Spice, which I found at Target. I bought it over a month ago, so you may be wondering why I haven't reviewed it sooner. An explanation is below, which you are free to skip and go directly to the review if you choose.

The Beginnings of Halloween 2014 at Target
I stopped into Target yesterday to look for the Halloween Pyrex bowls they have this season, and was surprised to find their Halloween section already taking shape! They had a lot of socks and various knick-knacks in their dollar bins, but beyond that their actual Halloween section was finally being set up!

Halloween 2014 at Cost Plus World Market
Cost Plus World Market had a 25% off sale on their Halloween decor this past Monday, so I knew I had to scoot over there after work to check out their Halloween offerings and take advantage of their one-day Halloween sale!
They had lots of creepy cool items this year, including a great Dia de los Muertos section, awesome kitchen accessories, bloody candles, vintage-inspired decorations, mummies, skeletons, and lots of Halloween-inspired wine! I even found some vegan Halloween pasta, which is probably my favorite fiendish fine at World Market since vegan Halloween pasta is hard to come by as they usually use squid ink to color the pasta black! This brand just uses carrots for the ink, though, hurrah!

So much Frankenstein stuff! Frankenstein's Monster
and The Bride are plastered on serving trays, plates, and
napkins! They also had two elongated rectangular serving
trays that were really cool!

Halloween 2014 at Home Depot
I happened to be at Home Depot over the weekend, and noticed they have a fun little Halloween section! It was a small section, but they had some neat items. I especially fell in love with the scarecrow pumpkin prop shown above! Isn't he the creepiest and cutest?!

Food Review: Mr. Dewie's Cashew Milk Frozen Dessert
Written by Sarah E. Jahier
I was ecstatic to finally find Mr. Dewie's Cashew Milk Frozen Dessert at Mother's Market this past week! I have been eagerly waiting to find this delightfully creamy dessert in stores here in Orange County since I had it in March (when I had my first taste of Mr. Dewie's at Expo West), so you can imagine my excitement when I found it in the ice cream section of my local health food store.

So Delicious Candy Corn and Pumpkin Spice Frozen Treats Coming Soon!
Written by Sarah E. Jahier
In what is possibly the best Halloween news I've heard all day, it looks like So Delicious is releasing two new autumn flavors (UPDATE: read my review HERE)! Photos of their new Pumpkin Spice and Candy Corn coconut milk non-dairy frozen desserts have been popping up on a few Instagram users’ accounts lately, and today, VegNews posted pics of the alleged treats! I am really hoping these will be available in-stores soon!
More Halloween 2014 at TJ Maxx/Homegoods
Written by Sarah E. Jahier
I keep going back to my local TJ Maxx/Homegoods store to check out their spooky selection of Halloween items! I've been back quite a few times since my original post a few weeks ago where I shared their initial Halloween stock. They have had a ton of turnover since that original post, and it seems like the items they had just a few weeks ago have all disappeared and have been replaced with new items!
I've found some great stuff this year, from awesome framed artwork to vintage-looking wooden signs to some excellent tableware, and might be checking back a few more times this month until their selection starts to dwindle.
Here is the selection I found at my local store the last part of August:
