Halloween Parties from Movies I'm Dying to Attend
While watching a movie, do you ever stop and think, "I wish I could transport myself into that scene right now?" That's how I feel a lot of the time whenever I'm watching a Halloween-themed movie or a movie with a killer Halloween scene. There are a lot of Halloween movies that feature incredible Halloween party scenes, and those are the kinda places I would love to transport myself to if I had a chance.
I thought it would be fun to feature 13 Halloween parties from movies I'm dying to attend, check them out below:

Creepy Crawly Bug Bite Appetizers
Bug Bites plus Spiderweb Dipping Sauce
These plump little critters are perfect for your next Halloween get-together! They are so easy to make, require few ingredients, and even the kiddos (and kids-at-heart) find them fun to assemble!
I found the recipe in the Betty Crocker Halloween Cookbook, though it obviously wasn't vegan-friendly. Well, a few quick swaps of ingredients and it was easily veganized! You can find the cruelty-free, dairy-free, veganized recipe below:

31 Days of Halloween: Cheesy Pumpkin Fondue
Jenelle York of York and Spoon
Not only is Jenelle as sweet as can be, her video series are always informative and fun, plus she is a licensed nutritionist and knows her stuff! It seems like I always learn something new with her videos, and her easy-to-follow instructions are a godsend to people who are kitchen-clumsy like me! She thoroughly explains all the steps to her recipes, and she makes it so easy to follow along.

31 Days of Halloween: Vegan Oktoberfest 2014 Report
This past Saturday I attended the first ever Vegan Oktoberfest, held right on the beach in Santa Monica, California. Oktoberfest is such a quintessential October celebration, I was so, so excited that we finally had an all-vegan option for this celebration of drink and food! I had grabbed early-bird VIP tickets (cost: $50 each, though after the early bird sale they went up to $65 each) pretty much the day they announced the event many months back, so I had been eagerly anticipating attending this vegan event.

There are lots of eerie events and activities going on this month in Orange County that are sure to get you in the Halloween spirit! There seems to be something for everyone, from scary mazes for adults and teens, to kid-friendly pumpkin patches, to jaw-dropping Halloween displays everyone can enjoy!
I've compiled a handy list of some of the haunting happenings in Orange County and also listed a few events that will occur beyond OC since they were just too good to leave out! You can check out my list below, though please note this isn't an all-inclusive list of all Halloween events. If you have a favorite event I've left out, please let me know in the comments!
Anaheim's Halloween Parade
Join in the fun with Anaheim's Halloween parade on October 25th, 2014, which has been celebrating the season since 1924! Fantastic floats, a Miss Fall Festival competition, and lots of Halloween activities at the end of the parade route round out this fun tradition! This is a free event to attend, but any activities, games, etc. are extra.

White Trash Weekend at Hicksville Trailer Palace
Three trailers at Hicksville Trailer Palace -
The Ingratrailor, The Fifi and The Lux
Hicksville is a small resort tucked far off the beaten path near Joshua Tree, California. They feature amazing restored Airstream trailers, each decorated in a different theme. They have a pool, archery, BB guns, fire pits, ping pong, a library, a jukebox loaded with cool tunes, and much more for their guests! I love going there and relaxing in the gorgeous desert!
Let's start at the beginning of the trip, shall we? We went to Hicksville in late July, so I knew it was gonna be hot, hot, hot! I packed a cute sundress, new sunnies, and a witchy hat to protect my paleness from the sun, plus tons of sunblock (I use Trader Joe's cruelty-free 50 SPF sunblock spray, which is cruelty-free and vegan)!

31 Days of Halloween: A Night to Dismember Zombie Prom Halloween Party
This past weekend Mister Spooky and I hosted our Zombie Prom Halloween party and it was a great success! It was such fun planning it all out and making a bunch of decorations and recipes for the party! I am really glad we chose this theme because it gave our guests the opportunity to be creative with their costumes and it gave us the freedom to do some neat decorating!
I made a bunch of cool signs for the party and tons of yummy (and vegan) party noms! We transformed our apartment with streamers, balloons, room wrap, fringe curtains and lots of twinkly lights - and then made sure everything had a bit of blood splatter on it, tee hee!
Mister Spooky and I dressed as the Zombie Prom King and Queen. We got our duds from the thrift store and ripped/bloodied them up. I bought some cheap crowns from the costume store and I made our sashes. Our guests came up with some super-cool costumes and almost everyone stuck to the zombie theme! We had zombie Marilyn Monroe, teacher, janitor, coach, football player, cheerleader, schoolgirl and various zombies, plus a Doctor Doom and a warlock.
We dined on icky-looking but delicious tasting food, listened to groovy Halloween music, drank our infamous bloody punch (it is so yummy but so deadly!) and played games like horror character charades, zombie trivia and zombie darts! At the end of the night we handed out some awesome zombie-themed prizes.
Everyone had lots of fun and I am really pleased how everything turned out! You can take a looksie at the party pics below:

Hi ghouls and boils! I'm running around like a crazy person getting ready for tonight's Zombie Prom! There are a few more decorating touches to be done, baking/cooking and last-minute costume alterations going on!
Whew! I can't wait for tonight, though!
Of course I couldn't let a day go by without a post, so I wanted so share some photos I've taken while prepping for tonight's Halloween party.
Check out how our "Romero High School" is coming along for Zombie Prom:
