It is easier than ever to choose to have a compassionate holiday dinner, so why not try some delectable vegan roasts for your holiday celebrations this year? If you think about it, it really doesn't make sense to give thanks by causing the pain and suffering of sentient beings, nor does it make sense to gather friends and family around a corpse, right? So why not serve compassionate, cruelty-free centerpieces to your friends and family instead?! Ones that truly celebrate the peace, love and community that these holidays represent.
If this is your first vegan holiday season, you have many options to choose from, and you can find an amazing vegan roast to suit any taste! Finding a vegan roast is easy, the hard part is picking just one (my suggestion - try several!)! And if you've been enjoying vegan holiday dinners for years, you'll be pleased to know there are some new options this year that look mouth-watering!
Keep reading below, where you'll find my guide for vegan holiday roasts. I've broken them up by type so you can easily find what you are looking for! Of course, this list isn't all-inclusive, but rather comprised of vegan roasts I highly recommend or ones I am looking forward to trying!
The Classic - Tofurky's Roast and Gravy
Tofurky was my first ever vegan roast and it still holds up even to this day! I have brought a Tofurky Roast to countless friends' Thanksgiving dinners, and everyone was always curious to try it. I roast mine in the oven, usually with potatoes, carrots and onions, while basting it in a mix of soy sauce, olive oil and spices. It turns out delicious every time! The Tofurky Roast comes several different ways - you can buy it on it's own, with a tub of gravy (my favorite one - you HAVE to have the gravy!), or in a humongous Tofurky Feast, which includes not only the roast and gravy, but also dessert and a vegan wishbone!

The Connoisseur - Field Roast
Looking for something a little more extravagant? Try any of Field Roast's succulent vegan roasts, including their new Smokey Forager's Roast with a Pineapple Mustard Glaze, Celebration Roast with Traditional Bread Stuffing and Porcini Mushroom Gravy, or, my favorite, their Hazelnut Cranberry Roast en Croute! They also have smaller options of their Celebration Roasts and also make an excellent vegan meat loaf along with their other offerings. They are all winners and I can honestly say I've never had a Field Roast that didn't impress! Their roasts are my go-to for when I need something a little fancier for holiday dinners or just want to treat myself.

The Comforting Crowd-Pleaser - Gardein's Holiday Roast

The More Bang For Your Buck - Trader Joe's Breaded Turkey-less Stuffed Roast with Gravy
I'm pretty sure this is made by Gardein for Trader Joe's, and is very similar (perhaps identical?) to the Gardein holiday roast mentioned above, but usually less expensive! If you have a Trader Joe's near you, you can get more bang for your buck by purchasing this! They also come out with smaller versions in bags, which are pretty much the same as Gardein's Savory Stuffed Turk'y.

The Double-Take - Vegetarian Plus' Whole Vegan Turkey
I have never actually tried this one before, but it is a 100% vegan roast shaped like a cooked bird. It's pretty large, and would be good to bring to a holiday dinner with omnivores to see if they would guess if it's vegan or not! It's a little on the pricey side, but its size would mean you could have some hefty leftovers. One day I definitely want to try this!

The Lazy Leftover - Gardein's Lightly Breaded Turk'y Cutlets
Don't feel like waiting for a roast to cook? Grab Gardein's Lightly Breaded Turk'y Cutlets and you'll be enjoying them in no time! They come with gravy that you can slather on the cutlets to your hearts content! These cutlets are also perfect for making sandwiches with, in case you run out of leftovers but still have a hankering for Thanksgiving-like food.

The Ham - Vegetarian Plus' Ham Roll
Sick of roasts and/or turkey alternatives? Try this Ham Roll, which comes with a delicious-sounding apricot plum glaze! It's not only perfect for the upcoming autumn and winter holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas, but would also work well for a vegan Easter feast! I haven't tried this myself yet, but I do want to give it a go.

What are your go-to vegan roasts for the holidays? Which vegan roasts are you most looking forward to this holiday season?
This is great! I've only ever tried Tofurkey and am now interested in trying something here - most likely the Trader Joe's one. Thank you!
