Top 10 Creepy Movie Bunnies to Ruin Easter

I stumbled upon this great article titled "Top 10 Creepy Movie Bunnies, In Case You Want to Ruin Easter," about creepy, weird, disturbing and outrageous rabbits in film by blogger Teague Bohlen (though it's hard to imagine anything beating the creepy Easter bunny above - image source)

Included are: that gravely-voiced rabbit dude from Donnie Darko, the vicious Rabbit of Caerbannog from Monty Python and the Holy Grail, the campy Night of the Lepus, and many more interesting choices that should give you a chuckle or two!

Food Review: Amy's Vegan Mac and Cheese

One non-vegan thing I’ve been craving lately is a warm, comforting bowl of mac ‘n’ cheese. I know, I know, it’s not very vegan of me, but whenever my non-veg boyfriend whips up a bowl, the smell is overpoweringly delicious and I always find myself saying, “if I only take one bite…”. Of course, I never have taken a bite of the non-veg mac ‘n’ cheese, and now I will never be taunted with those tempting thoughts evil again, because the lovely folks over at Amy’s have brought us…dum-dum-DUM – vegan mac ‘n’ cheese!!!

The Spooky Vegan Returns....

Wow, shame on me for really letting this blog go before it ever really got started! Apologies, my fiends!

Never-you-mind, because I'm back now with hopefully more pizazz and passion than ever and I'm ready to get this blog moving along.

As you may have notice, I've changed the name to "The Spooky Vegan", which I think reflects my personality a bit more. I'll be chatting about everything that's vegan or having to do with veganism and anything having to do with horror, Halloween and other spooky stuff (though veganism will be my main focus).

Can't wait to get started and start sprucing this place up a bit!

Sincerely,
Your Spooky Vegan

My Story on Going Vegan

Originally published 2/26/08 (that means now I'm over 2 years vegan!!)

I recently went vegan after learning the truth about where our meat, milk, cheese and eggs come from. I feel silly and ignorant about it now, but I had no idea slaughterhouse conditions were so deplorable or just how cruel and inhumane slaughter methods are. I also learned just how unhealthy and unnecessary meat-consumption really is. After just a few days of educating myself on animal welfare, humans’ dietary needs (no, we do not need meat to survive!), the environmental impact of our meat-eating ways, how we’ve been brainwashed by advertising to believe that milk, eggs and meat are good for us, and many other issues, I was convinced that going vegan was the right thing (and only thing) to do.
