10 Things I'm Loving This January
A new year brings endless possibilities for reinvention, improvement, and becoming your best self. I'm all for that, but I'll be honest and say that this new year started off rather languidly for me. No harm in that, I've just been enjoying easing into the new year! I also celebrated my birthday at the beginning of the month, so that, along with the holiday break has encouraged what I like to call a "gentle laziness."
So far, this easing into the new year has gone very well, and I've enjoyed it along with some wonderful treats this month. Like I'm trying to do every month, I'm reflecting on ten things I loved. This both encourages me to be grateful for the little (and big) things, while also sharing some of my favorite things with you (which I always love to do)!
For January, here are 10 things I loved:

New Details + Trailer Revealed for Interactive Play "Delusion: The Blue Blade" Returning This Spring
Delusion has been one of my favorite Halloween traditions the past few years - it is an interactive play that changes every year, complete with new plot, new characters, and new locations - you get to play a part and physically move through gorgeously decorated sets and interact with the characters in the story. To get a peek at what the experience is like, check out my review of their 2016 show, His Crimson Queen! The show is always a popular draw and sells out super fast, though they took a break in 2017 to focus on their future plans. This past year they returned with The Blue Blade, which has been extended into spring 2018 with a brand new "director's cut"! Check out more info, as well as a new trailer, for this spring extension of the play below:

From original stories to anthologies to remakes to sequels and more, this year promises a wide array of scary movies, and I think there will be something for everyone to enjoy. Vegan Beyond Avocado Taco from Del Taco
Beyond Avocado Taco and fries at Del Taco
This past December, Del Taco unveiled Beyond Meat at a select few of their locations in Southern California to test out the plant-based meat alternative before hopefully expanding nationwide. This is a HUGE deal and if it is successful, would give so many people access to try vegan food. It means that people want more vegan options and that companies are listening to them. It also means that more people will be exposed to vegan options, and that vegan food is becoming more and more mainstream! I am so, so stoked on this, and couldn't be more excited about Beyond Meat being available at select Del Taco fast food restaurants. Check out my review of their Beyond Avocado Taco below...

My Top 10 Horror Movies of 2018
Looking back on 2018, it was another stellar year for horror. I love that there was such a variety of films this year and horror fans weren't limited to only remakes or slashers or ghosts or monsters, but got so many different types of horror. It is such a wonderful time to be a horror fan and I am so grateful for all the phenomenal horror films that have been bestowed on us.
I also appreciate that there were so many surprises this year that came out of nowhere. Films are no longer burdened with having to be theatrically released, nowadays they can premiere on Netflix, Shudder, or VOD and be just as successful. While I still appreciate watching certain films in theaters, nothing can beat the convenience of seeing new films in the comfort of my own home. Many of my favorite films below were released exclusively on streaming platforms rather than having traditional theatrical releases.
I am so thankful we are living in this day and age where we have so many fantastic films being released and so many different ways to watch them. Below I've included my top 10 favorites of the year, though I easily could have made a top 20 list.
