Halloween 2016 at Marshalls

Orange alert!

When a friend posted her Halloween haul from Marshalls, I knew I had to pop in and have a look to see if I could score some goodies like she did! I was really hoping to find the Halloween fuzzy blankets that I've seen a few people post, but unfortunately my Marshalls didn't have those (wahhhh!). However, they did have a few aisles of Halloween stuff and picking through all that I found some fun stuff! I took pics of their selection so I could share it with you here; check out Marshalls' Halloween 2016 selection below:

First Look: Halloween 2016 at Target

 Halloween 2016 shirts at Target!

I popped into Target to get a few things on Friday and squealed with excitement when I spotted a few Halloween items in their dollar section AND their brand new Halloween 2016 t-shirts! Sure, it's only a few Halloween things so far, but it made me so happy to see Halloween stuff at Target coming in! Check out more pics of my finds below:

Halloween 2016 at Homegoods (Part 2)

After checking out the Halloween goodies at TJ Maxx/Homegoods a few weeks ago (check out pics from my first visit HERE!), I headed back yesterday to see if they had any new items. I'm trying to not buy as much Halloween stuff this year, which is why I've kept my Halloween shopping to a minimum, however, I just couldn't stay away from Homegoods' expansive Halloween selection! And I wasn't disappointed with my second trip there - they had aisles of new products out, including lots more knick-knacks and lots of different kitchen items.

You can browse the photos I took of their selection below:

Watch Now on Netflix: The Curse of Sleeping Beauty (2016)

I happened upon The Curse of Sleeping Beauty by chance while browsing Netflix the other night, and while it didn't look too promising I decided to give it a try. While it is more dark fantasy than horror, I found myself enjoying this one for its beautiful visuals and decaying yet fascinating mansion.

Synopsis: A man inherits an ancestral mansion and an ancient curse stemming back to the Crusades. As he battles to keep demons in the house at bay, he tries to awaken the beautiful Briar Rose to rescue her from a terrifying netherworld.

Halloween 2016 at Williams-Sonoma

Williams-Sonoma Halloween 2016 Collection

Williams-Sonoma has unveiled their Halloween 2016 collection online, and there are a few neat pieces I wouldn't mind owning! Some of their tableware and designs are repeats of past years, but they do have a few new items I have my eyes on. These items are currently only available online, but should be hitting stores in early September. Here are my faves from their 2016 Halloween collection:

Halloween 2016 at Homegoods

Halloween at Homegoods has arrived!

UPDATE: Check out Part 2!

I've been waiting and waiting for my local TJ Maxx/Homegoods store to start putting out their Halloween items and FINALLY found some yesterday! They don't have much out in the way of home decor, at least not compared to the stock they usually have, so I think more is coming (fingers crossed!). I'll keep checking back until they have more Halloween decor and report back with any more findings. Despite Homegoods not having too much decor yet, they did have some pretty neat pieces and lots of kitchen and table goods.

You can see what I found in my first round at Homegoods below:

Halloween 2016 at Crate and Barrel

Crate and Barrel have started stocking their virtual shelves with all sorts of Halloween home products and this year they have a black cat theme going on, which I just adore! Every year, I love browsing their online Halloween selection and picking out a few favorite pieces I would love to have. Maybe this year I'll actually purchase a few pieces once they have them in stores (I can't pass up those black cat lights!). For now, I'll be dreaming about their boo-tiful Halloween collection for 2016 and sharing some of my favorites below:

TALES OF HALLOWEEN 4-Disc Collector's Edition to be Released this September

I was so pleased yesterday when I heard the news that Tales of Halloween will FINALLY be getting a Blu-ray/DVD release, and just in time for Halloween! This horror anthology film features 10 festive Halloween stories from beloved directors and actors in the horror community. I saw it last year, and it is definitely a treat (it even made my top 10 film list for 2015)! The wait for a Blu-ray/DVD release of this film has been excruciating, but it was worth it since this release is brimming with extras, including bonus features, never-before-seen horror shorts, video diaries, and even the soundtrack to the film. Halloween and horror fans can now add this fun anthology to their collections! I can't wait to add it to my movie shelf and make a tradition of watching it every Halloween season!

Check out the official press release below with all the gory details about the special limited edition release of Tales of Halloween!

Watch Now on Netflix: Baskin (2016)

Baskin, the surreal Turkish horror film, finally hit Netflix instant! This film generated a lot of buzz last year when it hit festivals, so I've been dying to see it! It is directed by Can Evrenol and based on his 2013 short film of the same name (the poster above is actually from his short rather than this full-length feature, but I loved it too much not to use it!).

Synopsis: A group of cops responding to a request for backup in an abandoned building stumble upon a portal to hell and inadvertently become part of a horrifying ritual.

Halloween 2016 at Big Lots

Halloween 2016 at Big Lots!

I stopped by Big Lots yesterday to check if they had any of their Halloween stuff out, and luckily found two aisles of ghoulish goodies! They had an end cap of gorgeously gothic goodies and another one of eerie animatronics, an aisle filled with autumn-inspired home goods and foliage, and a last aisle with Halloween decor and lighting.

Check out the spooky selection below:

Recap: Midsummer Scream Halloween Festival 2016

Midsummer Scream roars to life!

Creepy costumes, fog wafting through the air, jack-o-lanterns burning bright, the sounds of screams, orange and black decorations, monsters lurking in shadows...is it Halloween? No, it's Midsummer Scream, a new Halloween festival that debuted this past weekend at the Long Beach Convention Center that brings us all things spooky in July! What a treat!

Midsummer Scream is a fabulously fun way to celebrate everything Halloween and kick off my favorite season! The event boasted Halloween and horror-related vendors, a huge Hall of Shadows that contained mini mazes and a Toxicity scare zone, panels about your favorite Halloween haunts and attractions, hands-on classes covering a variety of terrifying topics, a "screaming" room that screened horror films, and more! Overall, I was impressed with Midsummer Scream, especially considering that it was the very first year for this event. There is room for a few improvements, but for the most part I really enjoyed myself at the event. I took lots of photos so I could share the experience with you, so below I'll walk you through my day at Midsummer Scream so you can feel some of the Halloween magic, too!
