One of my favorite places to shop during Halloween is Cost Plus World Market! They don't have as much as other stores, but I love their vintage-inspired decor and their Halloween sodas and treats. They have unique and well-made decorations that I find last longer than other stores' decor.
This year, they have some really neat decor I can't wait to get my claws on. Check out some of my fave items (so far) from World Market's Halloween 2019 collection below:

Grandin Road always impresses with its grandiose Halloween decor, so I was excited when they released a sneak peek of their 2019 Halloween Haven collection! This year they have lots of beautifully spooky props and decor, including more animated props and some wonderfully celestial-themed items.
Take a peek at Grandin Road's Halloween Haven collection for 2019 below and visit their site for more!

Target is many people's most-anticipated Halloween shopping destination, and over the weekend they quietly released 2019's Halloween sneak peek! They have some wonderful themes this year, like Ghoulish Garden, Pumpkin Parlor, and Moonlight Bash! I am loving all the carnivorous plants they are featuring this year, as well as lots of black cat decor. I am really excited for the reveal of their Halloween collection, and I'm sure you are too, so without further ado, check out some nifty items from Target's Halloween 2019 collection below:

Pottery Barn always has gorgeous Halloween decor, and this year looks to be no different! They recently started posting some of their Halloween 2019 collection online and I've been swooning over some of their eerie items.
Here is a sneak peek at some of my favorite pieces I saw online:
Halloween items are starting to sneak up online and in-stores, and while stalking the Pier 1 website I noticed that they had their autumn and Halloween sneak peeks up! They have so many adorable items this year, I cannot wait to get my claws on some of them!
Here are some of my faves I spotted on the Pier 1 website, you can order/pre-order these now and they should make their appearance in Pier 1 stores around mid-August.

This has been a hectic month with trying to pack and get ready for a big move, plus getting ready to travel for a wedding, not to mention how bonkers work has been! Thank goodness I had some things that kept me sane and happy this month, and as per my monthly tradition, I'm sharing 10 of these things with you below. This monthly practice encourages me to reflect on things I'm grateful for this month as well as sharing some of my favorite things with you! And I always love to hear about items you are digging this month, feel free to share them with me in the comments!
Here are my 10 Things I'm Loving this June:
Tuesday, June 25, 2019
Southern California finally got its very first At Home store (in Lake Forest, located in Orange County) which means we can finally stop drooling over pics from the rest of the country and we can finally get our claws on their Halloween items! I shared some items from their website a few weeks, ago, but our local SoCal store has already started putting out Halloween items in June and has seen Halloween lovers descend on the store to snap up Halloween goodies as well as snapping Instagram pics! I've been stalking the store for a few weeks now, waiting for them to start putting out the Halloween goods. I struck out the first few times, but finally got lucky last Friday! They were still busy unpacking lots of boxes, but they already three aisles of Halloween and autumn stuff out. I can't believe Halloween products are already hitting shelves, but seeing all that orange and black really put a huge grin on my face!
Want to see what they had out? Take a look below:
Monday, June 10, 2019
As you may have seen across social media, At Home stores have started rolling out their Halloween merch in-stores! Yes, it is only June, but this a major Code Orange! We actually had the very first At Home store in California open here in Orange County, just about 20 minutes away from where I live. I went and checked it out this weekend to see if they had any Halloween stuff out, but unfortunately they had nothing and told me they don't expect any Halloween stuff stocked until late June.
Until then, I thought I would share a sneak peek of the Halloween items that are currently on their site that will be available for purchase in stores soon (unless you are lucky and your At Home already has these items stocked). It looks like the theme this year is skewing towards Game of Thrones-themed decor - lots of dragons, crowns, etc.

I'll be honest, this month has been a struggle for me. I got sick at the beginning of the month for two weeks and also found out we have to move at the end of our lease. In order to fund this unexpected move, I've been selling a large chunk of my Halloween collection. The whole month feels like one long battle against being sick and then another battle of purging belongings. I don't share this because I want pity, but just to show that life can throw us some curveballs sometimes and I just wanted to share why I've been so absent from here and social media. I know it will all work out in the end and I'm excited for a change of scenery, but it sure has been stressful.
Still, this month hasn't been all bad - I feel like even more than usual I need to focus on the positive and savor the little things I sometimes take for granted. As per my monthly tradition, I'm sharing 10 things I'm loving this month below, which encourages me to reflect on things I'm grateful for this month as well as sharing some cool things with you!

With Memorial Day behind us, I can't believe summer is almost here! I'm already in shock of how long the days are stretching and I am already dreading the warmer temperatures. Summer is the last season before the glorious return of fall, and all we need to do is survive summer to get to the best season, autumn! And of course, summer can be fun if take the time to stock up on some necessities that make it so much more pleasant for us darklings...
I have to say that summer is usually a struggle for me (and many other fellow fiends who wear black year-round), so in preparation I've rounded up some spooky summer goth essentials to help me and my fellow spookies survive the summer. Below I'm sharing clothes, accessories, pool floats, parasols, swimsuits, makeup, sandals, and more with a spooky twist to make summertime more bearable.

Today, April 30th, marks halfway to Halloween and Walpurgisnacht (aka Witches' Night aka Hexennacht). Walpurgisnacht is known as the "other Halloween", where the veil between the worlds separating known and unknown is thinnest, allowing all manner of spirits, witches, otherworldly creatures, demons, devils, and so forth to push through into our world.
Ancient tales of witches, devils, and spirits gathering high in the mountains on this night seems to have its roots in Germany. Brocken Peak in Germany's Harz Mountains has two rock formations called Devil's Pulpit (Teufelskanzel) and the Witches' Altar (Hexenaltar), where these legends originate from. Nearby the Brocken Peak is the Hexentanzplatz, which literally means Witches' Dance Floor, where many pre-Christian rituals were performed, including the rites of old Saxon cults honoring the forest and mountain gods and goddesses.

Universal Studios announced another maze for their Halloween Horror Nights events in Hollywood and Orlando, bringing back their iconic Universal Monsters! Hollywood will see a showdown in the new "Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man" maze, while Orlando will see all of the classic monsters come to life.

Halloween Movies and Where to Watch Them for Half-o-ween
Can you believe it is almost halfway to Halloween?! April 30th/May 1st marks the halfway point to October 31st, and every year I like to acknowledge this milestone with a little mini Halloween celebration. In past years, I've recommended ways to celebrate Halfway to Halloween, how to bring Halloween into your home, shared the history of Walpurgisnacht (aka Witches' Night, which occurs on the same date), and many more spooky spring-time shenanigans!
This year, I'm craving some Halloween films and TV shows to help spark that spooky spirit, so I thought I would share all the Halloween films currently streaming on Shudder, Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime (if you are looking for more suggestions for Halloween movies, check out my Ultimate List of Halloween-themed Movies). These movies are set on or around Halloween, but I've also included TV shows that have memorable Halloween episodes as well as a few other titles that give me a spooky vibe even though they may not be set on Halloween (like Goosebumps or The Curious Creations of Christine McConnell).
Note: Listing is for US-region only. Also, I have not seen all of these, so I cannot speak to the quality (and I can't even guarantee the quality of the ones I HAVE seen, haha). However, I have noted all the ones I do recommend with an asterisk (*).
Here are Halloween Movies and Where to Watch Them for Halfoween:

In past years, I've shared witch films to get you in the spirit of Witches' Night (check out those recommendations HERE and HERE), but this year I decided to turn my focus to the small screen. With the success of the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina series as well as all things witchy gaining in popularity, I'm sure we all could use some bewitching shows to watch (or re-watch) in honor of Walpurgisnacht on April 30th (if you want to familiarize yourself with this celebratory witch holiday, read this post).
Below, I've rounded up witch-themed or witch-adjacent shows that you can stream on platforms like Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, and Shudder (I've also added links to Amazon if you want to own the shows on Blu-ray or DVD), check them out:

It's officially springtime here and temperatures are heating up, flowers are blooming, the rain has stopped, and summer is swiftly on the way (but that just means we are closer to Halloween season, right?!). This month has been a whirlwind of activity and seems to have gone by in a flash! So much good stuff happened that it is gonna be tough to consolidate it down to ten, but here we go!
As I've been doing on a monthly basis with these "ten things" posts, I'm sharing 10 items I'm loving this month. This practice encourages me to be grateful for the little (and big) things in my life and also give me a chance to share some cool things with you!

More amazing news coming out of the upcoming Midsummer Scream, as they announced today that one of their presentations will feature leaders in the immersive entertainment industry, including Jon Braver of Delusion, Bonnie Hallman of Queen Mary's Dark Harbor and WB's Horror Made Here, Justin Fix of Creep LA and The Willows, director Darren Lynn Bousman who also created The Tension Experience, and many more!
I love hearing stories of the creators behind these immersive events, so I am very much looking forward to this panel. More info is included in the official press release below:

Springtime always inspires me to clean out my closets, de-clutter, and tidy up my home. The longer, sunnier days inspire me to brush away the cobwebs, give everything a deep clean, and find new ways to organize my things. Spring is time to start fresh and get my house spooky and sparkling, with everything in it's proper place.
I've been eyeballing some new organizers to achieve this goal, with a spooky twist, of course! I've been looking for makeup holders, curio shelves, desk organizers, photo and memento boxes, all with a gothic aesthetic. I thought it would be fun to share these eerie organizers with you, too, in hopes that they help with your own spooky spring cleaning!
Check out the items below to help you get eerily organized this spring and do some spooky spring cleaning:

Yesterday, Universal Studios Hollywood announced their next maze for this year's Halloween Horror Nights! The popular "Holidayz in Hell" concept, which scared guests as a scare zone previously, will be turned into a full-fledged maze for Halloween 2019! I love that scare zone, and can't wait to see what they do with it in the larger-scale maze layout. Check out the official press release about this announcement below:

As of today, there are only 200 days left to go until Halloween! That doesn't seem very long, right?
I am so looking forward to this year's Halloween season - in just a few months we will start seeing orange and black in stores again, haunts being announced, and all manner of spooky goodies coming together. I can't wait and already have a long list of to-do's this upcoming Halloween season, like hitting up all my favorite stores, getting up more decorations, going to pumpkin patches, and checking out a bunch of haunts!
Do you have any plans yet for Halloween 2019?

Ghouls and boils, this past Saturday I attended one of my favorite spooky spring-time events, Spook Show! This Halloween festival gathers some incredible vendors, entertainers, and Halloween-lovers together to celebrate Halloween in spring at the Halloween Club located in La Mirada, California. It definitely gives the spooky kids something to look forward to in springtime, when most eerie events are few and far between. Want a peek at my past years' coverage? Check it out past Halloween Club Spook Shows from 2018, 2017, 2016, and 2015!
This year was their biggest event yet, with so many new and amazing vendors, plus performances from musical acts as well as other performers and presentations. In addition to all the vendors offering horror and Halloween-themed items, the Halloween Club itself had a massive warehouse sale with hugely discounted props, decor, and more!
I had such a blast at this year's Spook Show 7 - I got to see so many fiendish friends, meet so many ghastly ghouls and boils, and of course shop 'til I dropped! I also partnered with some rad vendors and will be hosting a giveaway this week over on my Instagram, so stay tuned over there for details on how you can win a prize pack from Spook Show!
And now, for some photos from the event:

This week Hallmark released their 2019 Halloween Keepsake Ornaments, including some unique new designs that fill me with ghoulish glee! Though these ornaments won't be available until July 13th, 2019, you can still swoon over them and add them to your wish list. I am really loving the black cat ornaments as well as the creepy-cute Monster Mash-inspired ornaments.

Want a chance to live in your favorite horror movies like The Shining, Nightmare on Elm Street, Beetlejuice, IT, and The Lost Boys? If you're in LA, you are in luck, as the new art installation called I Like Scary Movies, opens tomorrow, Thursday, April 4th! This time, the horror fans get their very own selfie museum, complete with recreations of some of your favorite scenes, characters, and set pieces from iconic horror films. Take a tunnel down to the sewers to float with Pennywise from IT: Chapter One, get trapped in the Overlook Hotel from The Shining, go down to the boiler room from Nightmare on Elm Street to sit on Freddy's throne and flee with his larger than life glove, head to the Murder Capital of the World to hang in the lair of The Lost Boys, and brush up on your Handbook for the Recently Deceased in the afterlife waiting room of Beetlejuice!
I was invited to get a sneak peek of this exhibit last night and couldn't wait to share my photos with you here as well as my general impressions of the experience. My hope is that it will give you a taste of what to expect from this fun experience, or, if you are unable to attend, hopefully you can live a bit vicariously through these photographs. I'll walk you through the exhibit below:
Hello lovelies! Confession: I am obsessed with posts showing what is in people's purses/fridges/etc. It is so much fun to get a peek at what people use everyday and seeing how they live day-to-day. And I don't mean just celebrities, I mean like regular people like you and I, especially if they have a spooky or vegan (or both!) aesthetic. Plus, this is a wonderful way to discover new products, bond over similar items and styles, and just get more of an insight into someone else's habits and style!
Ever since my ghoulfriend-in-crime Miranda from Spooky Little Halloween shared what was in her purse, I've been wanting to share what's in mine! I figured now that we are going into spring it would be the perfect time to clean out my purse and share what's been lurking within. I've decided to omit any necessities like my phone, wallet, keys, etc. because everyone has those. Though I do love mine so I've include a photo of them at the end!
Check out what is lurking in my spooky purse below:

Hi fiends, hope you are having a spooktacular March! Believe it or not, I've been enjoying a bunch of Halloween-related stuff this month! It feels like Springoween! The month, I went to a haunted house, saw a great horror movie, drooled over some new Halloween stamps that are coming out later this year, scored some amazing new artwork, subscribed to a rad Halloween membership club, and so much more.
As I've been doing on a monthly basis with these "ten things" posts, I'm sharing 10 items I'm loving this month. This practice encourages me to be grateful for the little (and big) things in my life and also give me a chance to share some cool things with you!

The first official maze announcement for Halloween Horror Nights 2019 has dropped and I'm ecstatic to report it will be a continuation of the Stranger Things maze from last year! Last year the maze took us through season one of the Netflix series, and it was so detailed and fun to walk through! This year, the maze will cover seasons two and three, so I'm excited for a whole new maze experience! Check out the teaser video plus more details from the official press release below:
One of my favorite events is Plant Fest, held a few times a year at Tanaka Farms. It is a wonderful gathering of vegan food and product vendors, plus cooking demos, yoga, farm tours, games and crafts for the kiddos, and such a fun vibe! I love going and shopping all the vendors, grabbing some great food, watching some cooking demos and just hanging out with good friends.
I'm thrilled that Plant Fest is returning on Sunday, March 31st from 10 AM to 4 PM. There is plenty of free parking and it is a real treat to spend the day on a working farm right in Orange County! Admission to the farm is $4 and allows you access to wander the farm and attend Plant Fest. Plus, a portion of all sales will be donated to an animal sanctuary that will be chosen by the vendors. Check out the incredible vendors below!

Halloween Club's Spook Show is only two weeks away, and I am so excited to have a day dedicated to all things Halloween in spring! The Halloween Club, a huge Halloween store that is open year-round, has been hosting Spook Show for seven ghoulish years. I always have such a blast at this gathering of ghouls, shopping spooky vendors, taking advantage of Halloween Club's massive sale, and enjoying the undead entertainment.
Halloween Club released their full lineup of vendors, entertainment, and special guests for their seventh annual Spook Show, and it looks to be the biggest and best one yet! Check out the schedule of events for entertainment, the vendor list, and the special guests and presentations they have planned for Saturday, April 6th below:

If you've read this blog for a while, you might remember me gushing about The Order of the Thinned Veil, a Halloween club that offers tiered memberships and exclusive art as part of their packages. Founded by artists and Halloween lovers Jason McKittrick and Sam Heimer, The Order of the Thinned Veil has entered its third year and has just unveiled its 2019 membership packages. I am not the most fashionable person by any means. I prefer my look to be like the vampires from What We Do in the Shadows, "dead but delicious." Or rather, distressed, tattered black clothing like I just rolled out of a grave (so maybe not as delicious as I'd envisioned!).
Nevertheless, I am always looking for new, eco-friendly clothing brands that are vegan and ethically conscious. I'm glad to say that a new brand, Legends and Vibes, has caught my eye, and they are currently fundraising to make all our fashion dreams come true!

A few years back I shared a list of incredible Irish horror movies that weren't Leprechaun (though, let's be honest, we all have a special love in our horror hearts for that film franchise) and offered something new. All those horror film recommendations still stand today, but after watching a newly released horror film The Hole in the Ground, I knew there were other modern Irish horror films that deserved a watch, too!
With St. Patrick's Day being celebrated this weekend, I thought this would be a great time to highlight 10 more Irish horror films you should watch. These vary from films set in Ireland, filmed in Ireland, Irish-directed movies, movies produced by Irish companies, etc. These films vary in tone from boisterous to moody to disturbing to gory, so there should be enough variety for everyone! Also, don't forget to check out my previous top 10 list of Irish horror for more recommendations.

The United States Postal Service announced several new stamp additions to their 2019 lineup, including these gorgeous "Spooky Silhouettes" Halloween stamps that we can expect to see this autumn! These are so perfect for mailing Halloween cards (and I need them for my annual Halloween card swap!) and I like to buy extras so I can use them year-round for mail!
Check out the description for these spooky Halloween stamps from the USPS site below:

Natural Products Expo West 2019 occurred last week here in Orange County, and while I didn't attend, I have been drooling over the photos fellow vegans have shared of hot new vegan products that dominated the Expo! It is incredible how more and more exciting vegan items are popping up all over the place, and many of them debut at Expo West, where companies exhibit their products in hopes that buyers from grocery stores will decide to stock them on their shelves, investors will help support their expansion, and to generate buzz.
In past years (check out my past coverage of the event HERE), there has been a significant demand for new vegan products and more and more companies with vegan options are showcasing their products at Expo West. This year, veganism has really exploded at Expo West, and I've seen so many incredible new food items that I can't wait to get my claws on! I've collected some of the highlights from others' Instagram posts (big shout-out to all attendees who shared their photos with the world, and an extra special thank you to the VegNews team for their incredibly comprehensive coverage!), check out the exciting new vegan products from Expo West I'm dying to get my claws on:

A teaser trailer for the upcoming horror film Candy Corn premiered on Dread Central and has given us a treat to look forward to this Halloween! This is Josh Hasty's next film after his behind-the-scenes documentary on the making of Rob Zombie's 31. I have been looking forward to Candy Corn for quite some time and I am excited to finally get a peek at it! The film's ridiculously gorgeous poster (designed by Fright Rag's Justin Osbourne) was also unveiled, which you can see above. With this as well as the teaser trailer (which you can view below), I am even more excited to see this film, which we will hopefully get to see this year around the Halloween season. Check out the teaser and more info on the film below:

For the past few years, horror and Halloween enthusiasts near and far have traveled to meet where all kindred spirits converge, at the "Spook Show", an annual event conjured up by the Halloween Club in La Mirada, California. This is one of my favorite springtime events, especially since we get to celebrate Halloween in April! It's full of incredible vendors, killer deals, costumed attendees, Halloween-themed musical acts and performers, and so much fun! If you want to see some of the fearsome fun I've had there in past years, check out the posts from 2018, 2017, 2016, and 2015!

Bethany Lowe Designs just unveiled their wholesale catalog for their vintage-inspired Halloween 2019 collections and it is so delightful to get a peek at Halloween goodies when it is still wintertime! Though these are only for wholesalers and aren't available for consumers yet, these designs are something to look forward to when they hit stores next fall.
Bethany Lowe Designs began in 1985 with the artist's vision of creating unique, original, vintage-style folk art and holiday designs for the wholesale industry. At that time, very few companies were creating this distinct style and look. Bethany Lowe Designs gained a following of collectors and admirers throughout the years, and in recent years the resurgence of the vintage folk-art style has led to even more spotlight on this brand, who showcases other artists' work as well.
The 2019 Halloween catalog offers us a glimpse into the whimsical artwork and decor of Bethany Lowe Designs, along with other artists like Chicken Lips and Johanna Parker! Some of the designs showcased are old favorites while others are boo-tiful new editions, but all of them will give you a burst of Halloween joy just be looking at them! Check out some snippets from the catalog below:

Brrrrrr, this February has been cold, even here in Southern California. It even snowed in LA, which only happens once every 10 years or so! I know in other parts of the country it is much colder, especially with the polar vortex that made temperatures plummet in many states.
The chilly temperatures are a perfect excuse to bundle up at home in comfy, cozy clothes and watch some horror movies (which is what I've been doing all winter long!). I've rounded up some comfy clothes and accessories for horror fans that are great for lounging around the house, check them all out below:

Every year I am overjoyed to find more and more people choosing the compassionate lifestyle by going vegan! And 2019 has already been declared the "Year of the Vegan" according to The Economist and veganism has been pegged as one of the fastest growing food "trends" (though we all know veganism isn't a trend or a fad, but a lifestyle change). In January, the UK-based charity Veganuary, which encourages and helps people go vegan in January and beyond, reported that they had over 250,000 participants sign up! This number of pledges exceeds those of the four previous years combined, which shows how many more people are interested in living more compassionately by going vegan.
This year alone I've already experienced many people reaching out and expressing their desire to go vegan and live more compassionately, which is so exciting to see! Since so many people were reaching out and I want to do everything possible to help and encourage them to go vegan, I thought I would offer some tips and tricks for going (and staying) vegan. These are things I wish someone had told me when I went vegan over 11 years ago. When I went vegan, I didn't know any other vegans and just kinda relied on the internet, books, documentaries and so on to inform myself and keep me dedicated to being vegan. Nowadays, there are so many resources out there, but I wanted to share some personal advice with you in hopes that it encourages those that want to explore veganism but maybe don't know where to start.
I have a lot of tips below, so at first it may seem overwhelming if you are just starting out, but I promise it gets easier! And it will be exciting as you start on your journey, even though you will go through many emotions and challenges. Just know there are so many others out there going through or who have been through the same feelings, discoveries, and challenges and you aren't alone! I am always here if you need any support, and there are so many great resources out there now for those going vegan. I'll cover more of this below, but I sincerely hope that these tips I'm sharing with you will assist in your own journey.
