Labor Day Weekend Halloween Haul

Ah, Labor Day weekend...for me, it means an extra day off from work (woo hoo!) and of course the unofficial kick-off to Halloween season! Mister Spooky and mine's anniversary also falls on Labor Day weekend, making it extra special for us!

This weekend I already told you about our trip to Roger's Gardens, which is transformed into a Halloween-lover's paradise this time of year, but we also visited several other places in my rabid quest for Halloween goodies.

One of our neighborhood Halloween stores opened up, and though its selection seemed pretty sparse, I did snap a few photos of interesting items they had.

We also visited several other stores (TJ Maxx/Homegoods, Michael's, Ross) and found quite a few goodies!

And here's a photo of some of the items I picked up, including a cute set of bat bowls, a haunted house serving tray, cute orange and black dipping bowls and some vintage-looking Halloween light boxes!

  1. That skull is too cool! Is that a talking skeleton?

  2. Thanks!

Ya, the one with the eyeballs was a talking skeleton, however the display in the store was broken, so I didn't get to hear what he had to say. :(

  3. Okay...so I bought that same Owl, but mine is orange, black and white....which is cute for Halloween. HomeGoods had antoher one that was Brown, Orange, and Yellow I think....more Fall than Halloween. But that one you posted looks Purple, Orange and Yellow. Are those the true colors, or is the color off in what I'm seeing on my screen? I like the bright colors because my house is very 'gyspy-ish' the rest of the year including Christmas, and his bright purple color and design would fit in perfectly!

  4. Wendy, I altered the owl photo so the colors are more saturated...the real colors were slightly less bright, and it is probably the same owl you bought! :)

Oooooh I love the gypsy-esque sound of your home!
