13 Days of Creepmas: Trimming the Creepmas Tree

Hello boils and ghouls! Last weekend I took the opportunity to put up my Christmas (or Creepmas) tree! Mister Spooky and I have a small two foot faux tree we use every year and for as long as we've had it we've decorated it with Halloween ornaments. We get our ornaments from Michael's every Halloween - I have a fun collection of pumpkin, tombstone, black cat, witch, skull, ghost and monster ornaments that makes our tree fit right into the other spooky decor in our apartment! Besides our main tree, I also have two small black Christmas trees I also decorate and use throughout our apartment.

You can check out a few photos of our trees below:

Need ideas for decorating your own Creepmas tree? Why not re-purpose items from Halloween - horror items, decorations, knick-knacks, skeletons, pumpkins etc. - and use them for decorating. You can also use a creepy color scheme to give your tree a sinister feel - try orange and black, black and white or even purple and green for a terrifying touch! Or you could pick a theme an decorate around that - Nightmare Before Christmas is a popular one you could use. I also recommend using ribbon (to match your color scheme or theme) to wrap around the tree or to tie bows onto its branches.

There are lots of other things you can do to creepify your Christmas tree! Just be creative and feel free to share your ideas with other below!

  3. I would love to have a black Christmas tree! What a super backdrop for all your sinister ornaments. Next year we will be doing a purple, black and green Halloween theme...can't wait!

  4. I didn't know Michael's had Halloween ornaments! I'll have to look for those next year. I just bought my sister in law a Nightmare Before Christmas Halloween tree for her Christmas present. :) I wanted to buy one for myself too.

  5. Eerily beautiful trees! The tuxedo black tree is perfect for Creepmas! I wish I could find a good deal on a black tree. Luckily I was able to find Halloween string lights that are orange, purple, and green.

This year we celebrated Creepmas for the first time and went all out with a Creepmas tree. Michael's had loads of great Halloween clearance items, like a sparkly green witch's boot and green tinsel tombstones!
