What I Ate: Holiday Edition

Vegan Shepard's Pie that Mister Spooky made. It was the perfect
comfort food, filled with veggies, Beyond Meat crumbles,
mushrooms, and topped with toasted mashed potatoes!

Soooo, the last time I did a What I Ate post was way back in July, and I can assure you, I've eaten LOTS of vegan food since then. However, posting all of it would mean an enormous post, so I decided just to share a few photos from the past couple of months over the holiday season.

These are mostly random food photos, meaning I haven't featured any of these in previous posts, including any recent food reviews. If you follow me on Instagram, though, you are probably familiar with some of the photos below:

Bad Boy Burger with Yukon Gold Fries at Veggie Grill - loved it!
It is a scratch-made patty with a blend of organic quinoa, kale,
and mushrooms, topped with Field Roast's Spicy Tomato Chao cheese,
caramelized onions,  pickled jalapenos, Sriracha, lettuce, tomatoes,
and vegan mayo, all served on a brioche bun.

An amazing friend sent me this adorable and delectable Bats and Boos cereal
from Love Grown Foods! It's cereal made from beans (yes, beans!!) and
it was so creepy cute and so yummy. Halloween is everyday!

I hadn't been to Freesoulcaffe in Tustin, California (review), in such a long
time, so I headed there for dinner to get this incredible potato pizza,
with fresh rosemary, vegan feta cheese, creamy white sauce.
Mister Spooky got their fettuccini, made with creamy vegan
Alfredo sauce, topped with vegan chickin', and served with a
side of toasted garlic bread.

No visit to Freesoulcaffe is complete without taking some of their desserts
to go! This time I brought home the Oreo Cheesecake and Peanut Butter
Chocolate Torte. Both were luscious!

If you know me, you know I love pizza TO DEATH! This is the Supreme
pizza from Daiya, topped with kale and Bob's Red Hot Sauce to give it
some extra kick.

I made myself a pumpkin spice bundt cake with maple glaze from scratch
for my birthday this year. And it was another birthday well-spent. :)

My Christmas dinner was Gardein's Holiday Roast, mashed potatoes
topped with mushroom gravy, Brussels sprouts topped with
mushrooms, and cranberry sauce.

And Christmas dessert was none other than this delightful Pumpkin
Cheesecake Tart from Kite Hill, made with their stunning ricotta and a
gingersnap crust.

Christmas morning Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls - my last roll from Trader Joe's.

Vegan chocolates I enjoyed over the holidays! Trader Joe's Dark Chocolate
Orange is accidentally vegan, and the Endangered Species Dark Chocolates
with Cranberries, Orange, and Cinnamon and Pumpkin Spice and Almonds
are certified vegan.

This holiday flavor of Health-Ade Kombucha was so tasty, it was both
spicy and sweet and tasted just like a holiday flavor should!

  1. Aaand now I'm hungry. All of those meals look amazing but I'm especially intrigued by the shepherd's pie. I've been wanting to make a vegetarian/vegan version for a while but I haven't really found a recipe I like yet.
