Halloween 2018 at Roger's Gardens: A Hogwarts-Themed Boutique

One of my Halloween traditions is going to Roger's Gardens to check out their Halloween displays that are unveiled every Labor Day weekend. This year, they have a Harry Potter-inspired boutique decorated to look like Hogwarts, similar to last year's displays. Despite repeating the same theme as last year, I was excited to check out this year's displays.

When I attended opening day, I glad to see that the displays were different than last year's, though still Hogwarts-themed. It was a magical experience getting to be immersed in incredible rooms filled with potions, spellbooks, owls, and fantastic beasts. You can see photos from this year's Roger's Gardens Halloween boutique below:

Halloween 2017 at Roger's Gardens: Magic and Mayhem

Halloween 2017 at Roger's Gardens

Roger's Gardens is a garden store in the Corona del Mar/Newport Beach area that transforms one of its buildings into whimsical Halloween-themed displays every year. They always open their Halloween displays on Labor Day weekend, and it's a tradition for me to check them out this time every year as it marks my kick off to all things autumn and Halloween (even though I celebrate Halloween every day in my heart)! It is always a treat to see the theme Roger's Gardens has chosen for the year come to life, and shop for some Halloween trinkets while I'm there.

Halloween 2016 at Roger's Gardens

Roger's Gardens is a garden store in the Corona del Mar/Newport Beach area that builds elaborate themed Halloween displays every year, unveiling them every Labor Day weekend. Not only are their displays a visual treat, but they also offer Halloween decor, artwork, tableware, and other fancies for sale (even some of their props are for sale!).

I attended the grand opening of their 2016 Halloween "Grimm Tales" displays, which are inspired by fairy tales like Sleeping Beauty, Hansel and Gretel, Snow White, Cinderella, and Little Red Riding Hood. You can check out pics below:

Halloween 2015 at Roger's Gardens - "Something Wicked This Way Comes"

My Labor Day weekend tradition is to visit Roger's Gardens in Corona del Mar/Newport Beach for the opening of their annual Halloween display. Each year, they create gorgeous sets built around a specific theme. This year the theme was "Something Wicked This Way Comes" and the sets featured a circus/carnival look loosely based on the iconic Ray Bradbury novel. Each section was transformed into a distinct "tent" - there was a magician's tent, the side show tent, a medicine man tent, and a fortune teller tent.

As usual, this weekend I visited and was swooning over all their beautifully themed rooms, artwork, and Halloween items. They have some stunning stuff and so much to look at and take in! It took me a good solid hour (and then some) to take everything in. I took many, many photos, and selected a few to share with you:

Halloween 2014 at Roger's Gardens

Written by Sarah E. Jahier

Roger's Gardens is one of my favorite places to go Labor Day weekend, since this is when they unveil their Halloween exhibits! Roger's Gardens is a high-end garden center, but this time of year they transform some of their rooms into showcases for all sorts of Halloween decor. Elaborate facades are put up to invoke the eeriest atmosphere, and high-end Halloween art and decor is put on display for all to enjoy.

The Night Gallery Halloween Display at Roger's Gardens

Boils and Ghouls, if you've been reading this blog the past few years, you know how much I love visiting Roger's Gardens over Labor Day weekend, since this is the weekend they unveil their elaborate Halloween displays! A visit to Roger's Gardens is an annual tradition in the Spooky house and really kicks off Halloween season for me.

This past Labor Day weekend was no different, and I headed over to the Corona Del Mar plant nursery to see their transformation to the "Night Gallery", which was their theme this year. Here is the description from the website:

"Wander down the central corridor of our Night Gallery, accompanied by chilling spirits, gawking at one-of-a-kind wonders from a collection of Halloween artists. Every corner, nook, and cranny of our four eerie art installations titled Cabinet of Curiosities, Mad Inventor’s Workshop, Day of the Dead, and Witching Hour overflow with creepy treasures to delight the most devoted of Halloween’s faithful."

Check out some photos I took of Roger's Gardens' "Night Gallery" below!

They have a lovely selection of beautiful pumpkins, too!

Welcome to the Night Gallery

31 Days of Halloween: Halloween 2012 at Roger's Gardens

One of my Halloween traditions every year is to visit the Orange County nursery Roger's Gardens and check out their elaborate Halloween displays! Now, I know you're probably saying to yourself, why would a nursery have cool Halloween displays? Well, Roger's Gardens is a beautiful place with high standards and they go all out for Halloween, converting rooms into themed Halloween displays and showcasing some pretty amazing Halloween folk art!

I go every year around the time they unveil their All Hallow's Eve display (Labor Day weekend is when they usually open) and I am always in awe of the work they put into these displays. I visited the nursery this year in early September, but I wanted to wait to share the photos I took with you until my 31 Days of Halloween!

Check out the photos I took below:

If you are in or near Orange County, I highly suggest you visit Roger's Gardens this month! If you go on a Saturday, you may even catch a featured food truck in their lot! Check out their website for a full schedule!

Halloween at Roger's Gardens

Today was Mister Spooky and mine's 5 year (!!!) anniversary (time really does fly when you're having fun), and since this year our anniversary coincided with the opening of Roger's Gardens' Halloween display we decided to celebrate by attending!

Roger's Gardens is an upscale nursery here in Orange County and every year they set up elaborate Halloween displays packed full of props, curios and unique spooky items. We go at least once (but usually multiple times) to check out their amazing Halloween displays (check out last year's post and photos HERE).

This year they really outdid themselves with their theme of "Blackstone Theater", where they invited guests to "Explore the remnants of the abandoned 'Blackstone' Back-Alley Theater. Roam dark mysterious rooms haunted by ghosts of performances past. Surroundings of strange objects, unique characters, and theatrical fascination will undoubtedly spark inspiration in artistic hearts. Enter a world of intrigue and bizarre beauty at Roger’s Gardens for a Halloween Experience unlike anything you’ve seen."

Check out the photos below!
