31 Witch Songs To Listen To On Walpurgisnacht

Happy Walpurgisnacht and Halfway to Halloween! I've already shared 20 Witch Films to Watch for Walpurgisnacht, as well as 20 More Witch Films and ways to celebrate Halfway to Halloween, but I also created a playlist that features 31 songs about witches, witchcraft, or just have a witchy vibe. I've been listening to this mix non-stop and wanted to share it with you so you have a soundtrack for Walpurgisnight, or Night of the Witches! It's filled with witchhouse, goth, metal, and more - just don't expect to find any witch "classics" on my playlist!

Happy Halfway to Halloween: 13 Ways to Celebrate

Happy Halfway to Halloween! Today marks six months from last Halloween and only six more months until October 31st, 2018! I like celebrating Half-o-Ween on April 30th, since the date coincides with Walpurgisnacht, or Witches' Night (find out more about that and more ways to celebrate HERE!). It's the perfect date for a second Halloween and to celebrate all things spooky!

I like to think of Half-o-Ween as a mini Halloween and celebrate accordingly. You don't have to do anything big (though you could!) but even small things can help invoke the spirit of Halloween! Dim the lights, light some candles or burn some incense, turn on your favorite scary movie, pop on some spooky tunes, crack open a creepy book, and just enjoy a little bit of Halloween goodness before we head into summer. Beside those things you can do, I have 13 more to share with you to celebrate halfway to Halloween - check them out below!

20 More Witch Films to Watch for Walpurgisnacht

Tomorrow is Halfway to Halloween and Walpurgisnacht or Witches' Night! I can't believe it is already the end of April with only six months to go until Halloween, eeeeek! This month I have been in crunch mode at work, so I'm sorry to say I haven't had much time or energy to devote to anything else. However, I couldn't let Halfway to Halloween or Walpurgis Night pass without sharing something bewitching!

Since I haven't had much time to plan for an elaborate celebration, I figured the best way to celebrate Witches' Night and Halfway to Halloween is to watch a good ol' witch flick! Last year I posted about 20 of my favorite movies that featured witches and witchcraft, so why not 20 more? There have been some new witch films that have really blown me away, and some classics I didn't mention last year, so this is a perfect time of year to recommend these witchy flicks. Though the majority are horror films, there are a few family-friendly films, comedies, and even a romance or two. I wanted to recommend films for witches of all kinds!

The Cauldron Spirits and Brews in Buena Park, CA

After checking out Spook Show a few weekends ago, I realized I was close to The Cauldron Spirits and Brews, a new witch-themed restaurant and bar that opened up in Buena Park right across from Knott's Berry Farm. I couldn't turn down grabbing a few drinks in a spooky bar and I was stoked at the opportunity to finally check it out!

The bar and restaurant is described on their website as: "...a dark fairy tale witch-themed sanctuary for the ultimate sensory experience with unpretentious sophistication through a variety of fresh quality cocktails, local craft brews and familiar yet unexpected tastes presented with impeccable service in a comfortable, social atmosphere."

Take a peek inside of this bewitching bar below:

How to Make Earth Day Every Day

Happy Earth Day! Though this is the one day a year where we acknowledge our commitment to making the earth a better place and preserving its beauty, wouldn't it be great if you could make Earth Day every day? Well, there is one simple lifestyle shift you can make that will help the Earth more than anything else you can do, and that is going vegan or adopting a more plant-based lifestyle. Now, before you click away from this article, I want you to seriously consider the positive impact you could make by going vegan - for example, did you know that going vegan has been shown to cut your carbon footprint in half?! And did you know that even if you combined all the greenhouse gas emissions from cars, trains, planes, etc. in the entire world that animal agriculture still produces more pollution (per this study)?! Or that on average a vegan person saves roughly 1,100 gallons of water every day? The water needed to produce a just a quarter pound of beef is 660 gallons of water and 600 gallons of water to produce a single gallon of cow’s milk.

Only 200 Days to Halloween!

Today marks only 200 days to Halloween!! Not much longer now, right?!

I haven't started planning much for this year's Halloween, besides starting to think about things I want to do when September and October come around. On my list are the usual suspects like the pumpkin patch at Tanaka Farms, Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios, Delusion (if it happens this year), Disneyland, Knott's Scary Farm, The Queen Mary's Dark Harbor, etc. I also want to get to some attractions I've never been to, like the Los Angeles Haunted Hayride.

Have you started planning for Halloween 2018?

Stay spooky!

Take a Peek Inside The Queen Mary's MOST HAUNTED Rooms

Happy Friday the 13th! I have a spooky treat for you today to celebrate!

The Queen Mary recognized as one of the most haunted locations in the world, and with its history it's not hard to see why. From a luxury cruise liner to being utilized as a troop transport ship during World War II, where she was known as "The Grey Ghost", the grand vessel has seen her share of both glamour and tragedy. Today, remnants of this past can be felt along the passages of the ship, whether in grand salons, staterooms, or in the massive boiler rooms in the belly of the vessel.

I have always been intrigued with The Queen Mary and the reported hauntings that seem so commonplace aboard the ship. I have visited the ship several times and have attended events there, but I have not specifically gone there for their ghost tours, though I have always wanted to. Well, last night in honor of Friday the 13th I had my chance as I was invited to attend a media sneak peek at The Queen Mary for the unveiling of their most haunted stateroom, B340, to the public. This stateroom had to be closed 30 years ago after excessive paranormal activity upset numerous guests. The stateroom has been closed for 30 years, but it is now open for guests to book...if they dare!

Along with being invited to step inside stateroom B340, I also got a taste of The Queen Mary's Haunted Encounters and Paranormal Investigation tours. The Haunted Encounters Tour takes you to hot spots on the ship where activity has been experienced and tells you the stories behind the ghosts. In the Paranormal Investigations tour, you actually got to go down into the bowels of the ship to conduct a paranormal investigation of your own! I'll walk you through everything I got to eerily explore below:

The Sixth Annual Spook Show Halloween Festival

The sixth annual Spook Show was held at the Halloween Club this past Saturday, and it was an absolute blast! If you haven't heard of Spook Show, it is a Halloween celebration in spring, hosted by the Halloween Club, which is a Halloween store open year-round with various locations in Southern California. I look forward to this event every year, because it's a pumpkin-spice flavored taste of Halloween in the springtime. This was my fourth time attending this event (you can check out my visits from past years HERE, HERE and HERE!), and every year it keeps getting bigger and better! Check out more about this year's event, including tons of pics, below:
