Traditions is a year-round holiday store located in Canoga Park, California, just north of Los Angeles. They have a fantastic Halloween section featuring vintage-inspired decorations as well as folk art, lighted decor, ornaments, and more! I've known about this store for years now, but had never visited until this past weekend when I made the 1.5 hour drive from Orange County. The store is the middle of an industrial part of town in a large building that houses their showroom as well as a large warehouse (they have an online store - yes, you can order their Halloween goodies from their website!). On the weekend parking was easy (they have a lot in the back or there is street parking) and the store was pretty empty.
About half of the store is devoted to Halloween, the other half is mostly Christmas, with smaller displays for Thanksgiving, Easter, and Independence Day. You should have seen the huge grin on my face when I saw the Halloween section, it was awe-inspiring! Traditions carries mostly vintage replicas or vintage-inspired Halloween items, with many mass-produced Bethany Lowe products. I loved browsing around and just being immersed in the Halloween spirit! Their displays are boo-tiful! You can check out photos of the Halloween decorations in the store below:

Eeeeeeek this is the BEST news I've heard in a while...Halloween Horror Nights Hollywood is FINALLY getting a Trick 'r Treat maze!! I am sooooooo excited for this one, boils and ghouls, since Trick 'r Treat is one of my favorite films ever. and no one does Halloween haunts quite like Universal (check out my coverage of 2017, 2016, and 2014)! I was so jealous last year when Halloween Horror Nights Orlando had a Trick 'r Treat scare zone that looked simply to-die-for! I am so stoked both parks are getting a whole maze in 2018!

Who else can't wait for Vegan Street Fair: San Diego Nights this Saturday?! Vegan Street Fair is an event near and dear to my heart - their annual Los Angeles event has always been a blast (check out my coverage from this year and past years: 2018. 2017, 2016, 2015). Vegan Street Fair: San Diego Nights is a more intimate affair than the daytime festival and it's like having a block party with the best people and food! VeganFatKid has curated the 10 vendors that will be there and they look awesome! The vendor menus were recently unleashed and I've been daydreaming about all the vegan things I'm going to eat this Saturday night and making a plan of what I want to eat (since I won't be able to eat everything, even though I want to!!). I'm so excited that I want to share my list of things I can't wait to eat at Vegan Street Fair with you!

Temperatures are heating up, the days are getting longer, and we are going to be in the middle of summer before you know it! In my opinion, the only good thing about summer is that Halloween season will immediately follow, so I just have to get through it.
If you are a darkling like me who wears black year-round and hates the heat, you are probably looking for ways to keep cool while still staying spooky. Lucky for you, I've been on the hunt for goth essentials like fearsome fashions, eerie accessories, and so much more that will make summer a little more bearable for us spooky kids. I've found 31 macabre must-haves for surviving summer the spooky way, check them out below:
