10 Things I'm Loving This March

Hi fiends, hope you are having a spooktacular March! Believe it or not, I've been enjoying a bunch of Halloween-related stuff this month! It feels like Springoween! The month, I went to a haunted house, saw a great horror movie, drooled over some new Halloween stamps that are coming out later this year, scored some amazing new artwork, subscribed to a rad Halloween membership club, and so much more.

As I've been doing on a monthly basis with these "ten things" posts, I'm sharing 10 items I'm loving this month. This practice encourages me to be grateful for the little (and big) things in my life and also give me a chance to share some cool things with you!

Halloween Horror Nights Announces Return of Stranger Things Maze

The first official maze announcement for Halloween Horror Nights 2019 has dropped and I'm ecstatic to report it will be a continuation of the Stranger Things maze from last year! Last year the maze took us through season one of the Netflix series, and it was so detailed and fun to walk through! This year, the maze will cover seasons two and three, so I'm excited for a whole new maze experience! Check out the teaser video plus more details from the official press release below:

Plant Fest at Tanaka Farms - Spring 2019 Edition this Sunday

One of my favorite events is Plant Fest, held a few times a year at Tanaka Farms. It is a wonderful gathering of vegan food and product vendors, plus cooking demos, yoga, farm tours, games and crafts for the kiddos, and such a fun vibe! I love going and shopping all the vendors, grabbing some great food, watching some cooking demos and just hanging out with good friends.

I'm thrilled that Plant Fest is returning on Sunday, March 31st from 10 AM to 4 PM. There is plenty of free parking and it is a real treat to spend the day on a working farm right in Orange County! Admission to the farm is $4 and allows you access to wander the farm and attend Plant Fest. Plus, a portion of all sales will be donated to an animal sanctuary that will be chosen by the vendors. Check out the incredible vendors below!

Fund the Future of Fashion With Legends and Vibes

I am not the most fashionable person by any means. I prefer my look to be like the vampires from What We Do in the Shadows, "dead but delicious." Or rather, distressed, tattered black clothing like I just rolled out of a grave (so maybe not as delicious as I'd envisioned!).

Nevertheless, I am always looking for new, eco-friendly clothing brands that are vegan and ethically conscious. I'm glad to say that a new brand, Legends and Vibes, has caught my eye, and they are currently fundraising to make all our fashion dreams come true!

10 More Irish Horror Films to Watch For St. Patrick's Day

A few years back I shared a list of incredible Irish horror movies that weren't Leprechaun (though, let's be honest, we all have a special love in our horror hearts for that film franchise) and offered something new. All those horror film recommendations still stand today, but after watching a newly released horror film The Hole in the Ground, I knew there were other modern Irish horror films that deserved a watch, too!

With St. Patrick's Day being celebrated this weekend, I thought this would be a great time to highlight 10 more Irish horror films you should watch. These vary from films set in Ireland, filmed in Ireland, Irish-directed movies, movies produced by Irish companies, etc. These films vary in tone from boisterous to moody to disturbing to gory, so there should be enough variety for everyone! Also, don't forget to check out my previous top 10 list of Irish horror for more recommendations.

Check out my picks for 10 more Irish horror films to watch for St. Patrick's Day below:

New Vegan Finds From Expo West I'm Dying To Try

Natural Products Expo West 2019 occurred last week here in Orange County, and while I didn't attend, I have been drooling over the photos fellow vegans have shared of hot new vegan products that dominated the Expo! It is incredible how more and more exciting vegan items are popping up all over the place, and many of them debut at Expo West, where companies exhibit their products in hopes that buyers from grocery stores will decide to stock them on their shelves, investors will help support their expansion, and to generate buzz.

In past years (check out my past coverage of the event HERE), there has been a significant demand for new vegan products and more and more companies with vegan options are showcasing their products at Expo West. This year, veganism has really exploded at Expo West, and I've seen so many incredible new food items that I can't wait to get my claws on! I've collected some of the highlights from others' Instagram posts (big shout-out to all attendees who shared their photos with the world, and an extra special thank you to the VegNews team for their incredibly comprehensive coverage!), check out the exciting new vegan products from Expo West I'm dying to get my claws on:

A teaser trailer for the upcoming horror film Candy Corn premiered on Dread Central and has given us a treat to look forward to this Halloween! This is Josh Hasty's next film after his behind-the-scenes documentary on the making of Rob Zombie's 31. I have been looking forward to Candy Corn for quite some time and I am excited to finally get a peek at it! Bethany Lowe Designs Halloween 2019 Preview

Bethany Lowe Designs just unveiled their wholesale catalog for their vintage-inspired Halloween 2019 collections and it is so delightful to get a peek at Halloween goodies when it is still wintertime! Though these are only for wholesalers and aren't available for consumers yet, these designs are something to look forward to when they hit stores next fall.

Bethany Lowe Designs began in 1985 with the artist's vision of creating unique, original, vintage-style folk art and holiday designs for the wholesale industry. At that time, very few companies were creating this distinct style and look. Bethany Lowe Designs gained a following of collectors and admirers throughout the years, and in recent years the resurgence of the vintage folk-art style has led to even more spotlight on this brand, who showcases other artists' work as well.

The 2019 Halloween catalog offers us a glimpse into the whimsical artwork and decor of Bethany Lowe Designs, along with other artists like Chicken Lips and Johanna Parker! Some of the designs showcased are old favorites while others are boo-tiful new editions, but all of them will give you a burst of Halloween joy just be looking at them! Check out some snippets from the catalog below:
