Curse of the Mummy's Tomb Bagels

In keeping with the Goosebumps theme, I was inspired by R.L. Stein's The Curse of the Mummy's Tomb to make these creepy cute bagels! I made these with the last of my Violife stash (sadly, this Greek-made vegan cheese is only available in Europe - I wish we had it in the U.S., though the makers of this cheese also make the Field Roast Chao and Follow Your Heart sliced cheeses)! Anyway, these mummy bagels are so easy to make and so cute!

I love Violife, but you can use any sliced vegan cheese - other favorites include Field Roast Chao Cheese or Follow Your Heart's line of vegan cheeses.

Ingredients:

One bagel (or as many as you want, really!) - I like Trader Joe's Pretzel Bagels

A few slices of vegan sliced cheese, cut into strips

Sliced jalapenos, olives, and sriracha hot sauce for the eyes

Directions:

Slice the bagel in half and cut the cheese slices in strips. Place the cheese strips onto each bagel half, overlapping them like a mummy's shroud and cutting them as needed to make them fit.

Add the jalapenos and the olives so they are in between slices of cheese, like they are eyes peeping out, and a dollop of sriracha in the middle to complete the eyeball look. If you want, you can wait until after you toast the bagel to add the "eyeballs", but I like putting them in the oven to release their flavors.

Pop the bagels in the toaster oven (or even regular oven) at about 300 or 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 5 minutes or until the cheese is slightly melted (timing will depend on the cheese you are using as well as the type of oven you are using - just keep an eye [bwahahaha] on them).

Let them cool a bit and enjoy!
