7 Spooky SoCal Events That Will Cure Your Halloween Blues

Who else is going through Halloween withdrawals? I know I am, though there are only 250 days left until Halloween! The good news is that there are a ton of Halloween and horror-related events in Southern California to attend this spring and summer that will tide us over until Halloween.

I've listed seven upcoming events below, ordered chronologically, so you can easily mark your calendars with these haunting Halloween events! Cure your Halloween blues and attend these seven spooky events:

The Shining Art Show and Exhibit at Bearded Lady's Mystic Museum - This Shining-inspired exhibition turns the Mystic Museum and Bearded Lady Vintage Store into The Overlook Hotel and will feature over 50 artists paying homage to The Shining. It opens tomorrow, Saturday, February 24th, 2018, with a special reception featuring a DJ and complimentary drinks. The exhibition itself will run until late May.

Reign of Terror - On March 10th, 2018 Reign of Terror in Thousand Oaks is holding a special haunt where ticket proceeds will be donated to benefit the Thomas Fire victims. All of their eight interconnected attractions, with 100 separate rooms to walk through will be waiting to give fans a thrill. What a perfect way to get your scares on this spring!

6th Annual Spook Show - The Spook Show returns to the Halloween Club in La Mirada on April 7, 2018 with hundreds of Halloween vendors, tons of spooky spirit, costumed characters, and even huge discounts at the Halloween Club next door. I love this event, I have a blast every time I go, and look forward to it every year! You can see the many reasons why via my past coverage of the event HERE, HERE, and HERE!

Monsterpalooza - This year marks the 10th anniversary show for Monsterpalooza, a celebration of the art of monsters and movie magic! The event will take place April 13th - 15th in the Pasadena Convention Center, where you can experience 250 exhibitors selling unique creations, special FX makeup demonstrations, celebrity guests, panels and presentations and much more!

Bats Day in the Park Weekend - The Bats Day Black Market returns this year on May 5th, 2018, with over 75 spooky vendors selling everything from clothing to music to artwork to books to toys/collectibles and much more! Then Bats Day in the Park will take place at Disneyland on May 6th, 2018, featuring photo ops, prizes, and gothic camaraderie at the Happiest Place on Earth!

Midsummer Scream - Midsummer Scream returns to the Long Beach Convention Center on July 28th and 29th, 2018, with what promises to be an even bigger Hall of Shadows, plus all the informative panels, fun presentations, spooky screenings, celebrity appearances, and a huge show floor bursting with escape rooms, games, special FX makeup demonstrations, and vendors! It's the perfect way to kick of the 2018 Halloween season. Check out my past coverage of the event HERE, HERE, and HERE!

ScareLA - No dates have been announced yet for 2018's ScareLA, but I'm expecting an announcement any day now! I went last year (read all about it HERE) and had such a spooky good time, so I hope to see it return in August of this year.

Which of these will you be going to? I am so excited about all of these events this upcoming spring and summer and hope I can attend most of them.

Stay spooky!
