Food Review: So Delicious' Candy Corn and Pumpkin Spice Frozen Desserts

Last week, I was ecstatic to discover So Delicious' coconut milk non-dairy frozen desserts in the new Candy Corn and Pumpkin Spice flavors at my Whole Foods! I have been looking forward to these vegan ice cream treats ever since I saw sneak peeks of them a month or so ago. If you are a lover of all things Halloween like I am, you should be excited for these cuties, too, especially since they come in pumpkin or candy corn shapes!

So Delicious was kind enough to send me some coupons so I could have a chance to try these festive desserts, and I kept checking Whole Foods religiously for these boo-tiful babies. Finally, after October 1st, I was finally able to get my claws on them! Each box contains four bars and retails around $4.99.

My pet skeleton Frankie loves So Delicious' Candy Corn Frozen Dessert!

I tried the Candy Corn frozen dessert first, which unfortunately not candy corn-flavored, but just candy corn shaped. This was a little disappointing, but I still really enjoyed this one! The bottom orange layer is orange creamsicle flavored, the white part is vanilla and the tip is coated with a hard chocolate coating, with more vanilla underneath. I didn't think I would like this one much after finding out it wasn't candy corn flavored, but, you know what, I actually LOVED the flavors of this one! It was so smooth and creamy, plus the flavors were all distinctive and delicious. Sure, it wasn't exactly a Halloween flavor, but the candy corn shape itself was enough to put a big smile on my face!

The other members of my skeletal family were also clambering for a bite
of So Delicious' Pumpkin Spice!

A few days later I tried the Pumpkin Spice flavor, which is shaped like a darling little pumpkin. Like the Candy Corn frozen dessert, this one was very rich and creamy. The flavor was a wonderfully subtle pumpkin spice, and I appreciated how it wasn't overpowering. It reminded me of these pumpkin milkshakes I used to get in the fall as a kid - the same sweet and spicy pumpkin taste mingled with a decadent, thick consistency. It felt downright wicked eating something this rich, but there are only 100 calories in each treat (and that goes for both flavors)!

Between the two, I really can't pick a favorite...I love them both equally and I am so excited that vegans get some rad Halloween treats! Thank you, So Delicious for making these wonderful dairy-free treats for us this Halloween!

These are now in stores at Whole Foods, and may also be available in other natural food stores, too!
