It's the first day of the best season, autumn! Happy Autumn Equinox, everyone (though I guess I'm a bit early, the autumnal equinox will arrive precisely at 4:21 AM EDT)!
I really wish I lived in a place with a proper autumn instead of infernal Southern California where the palm trees are boring and stay the same all year round. At least my street has a few big trees that drop their leaves, though I can't really tell whether it's because of the season or because of the drought. One day I will be able to celebrate autumn properly amidst forests of orange, red and yellow leaves! Until then, I'll just immerse myself in these gorgeous fall photos:
Note: Most of the images I found on Tumblr, so sorry for the iffy image sources, it was the best I could do!
Oh yes - how I miss those riotously colored leaves, and the chill at your back on a night after it's started getting dark earlier and you never know if it's a ghost or an autumn breeze! The downside to all of those lovely things though, was that in a blink it was gone and next thing you know you are slipping on sidewalks and shoveling snow and your heating bill is like, $450! Oh, if only we could live in a perpetual twilit autumn...ReplyDelete
